An unnamed Italian national team will play Australia at the FIFA World Championship qualifier in Singapore on Sunday (local time).
The game will be played on July 1 at 3pm GMT (8pm AEDT) with Italy’s team being the third country to take part.
The game will take place on the shores of the Singapore Sea after Australia was scheduled to play Uruguay in a qualifying round match on May 6.
“Italy’s national team has confirmed that it will participate in the FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifying Qualifier against Australia at Singapore on Saturday,” the Italian Football Federation said in a statement.
“The match will be a part of the Italy-Australia World Cup 2019 Qualifying Match which will be held in Singapore in July 2019.”
The qualifier was previously played in June, but was postponed due to the flood waters in the wake of Typhoon Soudelor.
Australia and Italy have already met twice in the qualifiers.
In June, Australia secured a 2-1 victory in their opening match at a ground in Tainan, while Italy beat Australia 2-0 in their second qualifying match at the same venue in May.
